The Fertile Ground "Salon" is a Washington, DC-based gathering for Black same-gender-loving (SGL) people to engage in meaningful conversations and cultural exchange. Inspired by the artists' discussion groups (Salons) of the Harlem Renaissance, we provide an alternative gathering focusing on intellectual dialogue and informative entertainment, always led by a subject matter expert. We explore topics from art, sports, and culture to politics, mental health, and spirituality.  Our mission is to educate and to entertain, to create conversations that spark growth.​
